Me too thinks that the prices are too high for a 4 year old game, but i also understand that anet needs to earn some cash too, so i accept it...
So far i bought a makerover-pack and 2 extra panes (because i am sick of running out of storage space when you want to keep some useful drops). Tbh i really enjoy the makeover pack because it allows you to make combinations that cant be done via the normal way (mixing hair, face, etc from different campaigns), so you can have a more unique character.
But personally i would never buy a name-change. IMO that one is very overpriced. I dont understand why this has to be so pricy because i cant imagine that the price is based on the difficulty of making such option (i had to do 16 forced namechanges... and IMO this "new feature" isnt much different).

Well, name changes and makeovers are okay I guess. Certainly a 4 year old character's worth the cash. But the storage panes are off. You may as well just buy an extra account, and you'll get all that accounts character slots as mules as well as the xunlai storage that comes with the account.

I think the normal makeover price is fair (the price includes 5 credits by the way). I may actually consider it.
The extreme makeover or name-change... I am not interested anyways so no comment.
The storage tab on the other hand is a bit too pricey. If I actually want more storage then I'll still just buy more mule slots instead... same price but can store ~5x amount of stuffs!!

My take:
$15 for a name change is a bit much, IMHO, especially if you compare it to WoW ($10).
WoW's character recustomization option (ie, everything but the race and class) is $15, while GW's equivalent is only $10 - but doesn't include a name change. Alas, even though you get 5 regular makeovers (everything but gender and name) for $10, WoW wins with the game-currency barbers for the same level of customization.
$10 for another Xunlai Chest pane? Seems reasonable enough to me, especially since they've been kind enough to give the freebie. (don't think I'll be getting one any time soon, though - never been much of a packrat and getting 2 new character slots would obviously have priority so I could have a character of each profession)

They don't change every bit of data associated with the name.
See: Customized Weapons.
It's a half-assed job that wants a lot of money.

I'll first say the new features is al optional i don't dare to call it content course it isn't content.
It's a shame they wasted some good quality design time on this.
The pet zoo well it's funny but did we realy need it don't think so.
Second the storage pane is bollocks you pay 10 bucks for 20 slots of storage.
For the same 10 bucks you can buy a char slot with 45 slots of free space.
Count your profit if you play 1 of ea prof you still have 16 slots free for storage thats over 600 free slots.
Third the gender change/makeover/name change i can recall that gaile said not gonna happen maybe in GW2 yet they did IMo this is a failed attemt to make money course there funds grow low.
And they are still working on GW2 and they need money fast.
Fourth the Z challange cough time sink cough
So these so called content is a waste of time
And REAL NEW content like an expansion can be ma de but a campaign size content can't course they progammed themselfes in a corner with those crappy legendary titles IMO they did that on purpose to put an end to GW not to kill it but so they don't have to make big stuff anymore an can focus on there little david (GW2) who gonna fight the 800pound WoW gorrila
For some these words are harsh but this is just the way i think about it.
Just a reminder i play GW often becourse i rant the **** out of this update doesn't mean i hate the game i just a pitty i came to this.

But first she has to come back to GW, which seems... unlikely.

Are people STILL chanting this mantra? *yawn*
As if we haven't known FOR YEARS how much raw storage you can get by buying char slots or new accounts.
"I can get way more storage for the same $" is completely missing the point. The benefit of storage panes is NOT that they let you store more stuff. It's that they give you far easier access to stuff you're already storing.
Some people think that's a convenience worth paying for. Some do not. Those that do not, you really don't need to tell anyone how many slots you get from buying a char slot instead. Everybody knows already. Everybody knew before storage panes came along -_-

Bahaha, I guess it's not as much of a secret as I thought it was! I would have renamed "Illfated Fat" but after I randomly selected those two words for my GW handle, they really seemed to take hold. At this point, as much as I would like to, it's pointless to change my name because I even use it in other games now, it's the name on all my forum accounts, and it's what people know me by >_>.
BUT! I did buy the Makeover Pack. I think it's a pretty great deal for $9.99, and I don't have to feel self-conscious about my ele anymore .

I'm back! Admittedly I don't use GW for more than much of a chat client anymore, I still log in. I occasionally do stuff in game, too!
P.S. Should I know either M-Impulsa or Esan? *blushes*

I considered buying the storage panes, but at $10 each, I just can't justify to myself spending the money for only 20 storage slots. Pack rat that I am, I really would like the slots. I may eventually break down and buy them for my main account, but I highly doubt I will ever decide to purchase them for my secondary account.

Yes, stuff is too expensive. $15 for a name change? Come on... $10 for a make-over? Right... $10 per storage slot? A new char slot costs that and gives double the space.
Pricing is way out of line.

Got to agree about the pricing being too high - year go $10 might have looked ok, but at the current $ to £ exchange rate it's way to much for me. At £1 per character makeover and £2.50 per storage tab I'd likely have spent £12-£13, but as it stands I'll just stick with what I have.
